Welcome back! This is my first proper blog post after launching the site. Today, I want to share the story behind the flower stand project for May'n's 20th Anniversary concert "With You - Sheryl on Stage/May'n Space".

The Beginning / はじまり

The idea first crossed my mind in January 2025, but I didn't take any concrete steps until early March. That's when a friend approached me with the simple but decisive words: "If you want to do something special for this event, let's organize a flower stand together."
このアイデアを最初に思いついたのは2025年1月でしたが、3月初旬まで具体的な行動は起こしませんでした。その時、友人が「このイベントのために何か特別なことをしたいなら、一緒にフラワースタンドを企画しよう」というシンプルだけど決定的な言葉をかけてくれたのです。

And just like that, our path was set — a flower stand, the two of us working together. Since we're both of Chinese origin, it made sense to organize within Chinese-speaking communities. Given China's somewhat isolated internet ecosystem, it can be challenging for fans inside and outside the Chinese-speaking world to collaborate on fan events. So we decided to focus our efforts there and get things moving.
そうして私たちの道は決まりました — フラワースタンド、二人で協力して。私たちは二人とも中国系なので、中国語コミュニティ内で企画することが自然でした。中国のインターネット環境は世界から少し隔離されているため、中国語圏内外のファンが一緒にファンイベントを企画するのは難しいのです。そこで、中国語圏に焦点を当てて進めることにしました。

Building the Team / チーム編成

After deciding to focus on Chinese-speaking fans, we invited a designer who had worked on most of the Macross/May'n/Fukuyama fan events in China. This formed our three-person working group. We established one crystal-clear rule: I would never handle any money until after the flower stand was delivered. My friend would collect contributions from participants and only transfer funds to me once everything was successfully delivered.
中国語圏のファンに焦点を当てることを決めた後、中国でのマクロス/May'n/福山関連のファンイベントのほとんどを手がけてきたデザイナーを招待しました。こうして3人のワーキンググループが形成されました。私たちは明確なルールを設定しました：私はフラワースタンドが配送されるまで一切お金に触れない。友人が参加者から寄付を集め、すべてが無事に配送された後にのみ私に送金する、というものです。

Design Inspiration / デザインのインスピレーション

Right before we started the design process, I came across the stunning 3-body flower stand from ようこそフェスティバル (@youkoso_fes) for the 響け! ユーフォニアム 10th Anniversary Event, also held at Pacifico Yokohama. It was... breathtaking. I immediately said, "Let's do a 3-body flower stand!" and everyone agreed.
デザインプロセスを始める直前、同じくパシフィコ横浜で開催された「響け！ユーフォニアム」10周年記念イベントのために、ようこそフェスティバル（@youkoso_fes）さんが制作した見事な3連フラワースタンドを見ました。それは...息をのむほど美しかった。私はすぐに「3連フラワースタンドにしよう！」と言い、全員が賛成しました。

For the illustration, I remembered seeing an absolutely striking Yami-Sheryl and Yami-Ranka artwork in 2024. I searched through my Twitter bookmarks and found the artist — ArumanLorei (@LutaMoonless). By a stroke of luck, she appeared to be Chinese or of Chinese origin, making communication seamless. I sent her a DM and received an enthusiastic "Why not?" in response.
イラストについては、2024年に見た非常に印象的なヤミシェリルとヤミランカのアートワークを思い出しました。Twitterのブックマークを検索して、アーティストのArumanLorei（@LutaMoonless）さんを見つけました。幸運なことに、彼女も中国系のようで、コミュニケーションがスムーズでした。DMを送ると、熱意のこもった「なぜだめなの？」という返事が返ってきました。

Design Elements / デザイン要素

With everything in place, we quickly determined our core design elements: butterfly, heart, wing, and starry sky — essentially May'n's 20th anniversary logo elements plus butterflies for Sheryl.
すべてが整い、私たちはすぐに核となるデザイン要素を決定しました：蝶、ハート、翼、そして星空 — 基本的にMay'nさんの20周年ロゴの要素にシェリルを象徴する蝶を加えたものです。

Later, when we saw the official concert logo designed by Ebata Risa-san, we were amazed by the coincidence — wings and butterflies! It seemed everyone had the same vision for our Galactic Fairy and our beloved Bucho.
後に江端里沙さんがデザインした公式コンサートロゴを見た時、その偶然の一致に驚きました — 翼と蝶！みんな銀河の妖精と愛する部長に対して同じビジョンを持っていたようです。

Finding the Right Florist / 花屋さん探し

Since this was my first time organizing a flower stand in Japan, I decided to work with a florist close to the venue who would understand the local rules and facilitate better communication. I chose the same flower shop that ようこそフェスティバル had used — a safe bet. I wrote them an email, mentioned how their previous work had impressed me, and asked if they could take our order. They responded with a warm yes! We exchanged about 20-30 emails, carefully clarifying every detail. They were incredibly patient and meticulous throughout the process.
日本でフラワースタンドを企画するのは初めてだったので、会場に近く、現地のルールを理解し、コミュニケーションがスムーズな花屋さんと協力することにしました。ようこそフェスティバルさんが利用した同じ花屋さんを選びました — 安全な選択です。彼らの以前の作品に感銘を受けたことを伝え、注文を受けてもらえるか尋ねるメールを書きました。温かい「はい」という返事をいただきました！約20〜30通のメールを交換し、すべての詳細を慎重に確認しました。彼らはプロセス全体を通じて信じられないほど忍耐強く、細心の注意を払ってくれました。

Production Challenges / 制作の課題

We sent our designs to Accea for printing — an obvious choice as I see their work everywhere in Japan. It couldn't be wrong! This happened to be the day of the 「娘々グレイテスト☆ヒッツ！」release commemoration event『娘イベ 〜キラッ☆バースデー〜』. I was wandering around イオンモール幕張新都心 when I received a call — Golden Week, crowded, possibly one day late. I was worried, but I understood that everyone was busy with events during Golden Week. All I could do was pray.
デザインを印刷のためにAcceaに送りました — 日本中で彼らの作品を見かけるので明らかな選択でした。間違いはないはず！ちょうど「娘々グレイテスト☆ヒッツ！」リリース記念イベント『娘イベ 〜キラッ☆バースデー〜』の日でした。イオンモール幕張新都心を歩いていると電話がかかってきました — ゴールデンウィーク、混雑、1日遅れる可能性。心配でしたが、ゴールデンウィーク中は皆イベントで忙しいことは理解していました。祈るしかありませんでした。

Fortunately, everything went smoothly. The panels arrived on time. Since the flower shop was closed on Thursdays, I visited them in person on Wednesday to confirm all the final details. The staff was wonderful — I brought them chocolates from Seattle as a small token of appreciation. Later, I received a touching email from them: Seattle was where they had first traveled abroad 40 years ago to watch a Seattle Mariners game. I was so happy that my small gift could bring back such precious memories.
幸いなことに、すべてがスムーズに進みました。パネルは時間通りに到着しました。花屋さんは木曜日が定休日だったので、水曜日に直接訪問して最終的な詳細をすべて確認しました。スタッフの方々は素晴らしかった — 感謝の気持ちとしてシアトルのチョコレートをお渡ししました。後で感動的なメールをいただきました：シアトルは40年前に初めて海外旅行でシアトル・マリナーズの試合を見に行った場所だったそうです。私の小さな贈り物がこんなに大切な思い出を呼び起こすことができて、とても嬉しかったです。

The Letter and Gift / 手紙とギフト

The day before the event, I prepared a letter to May'n-san on behalf of all participants, explaining our message and why we chose the name "音楽包子本舗" (Music Baozi Headquarters). The designer also helped create a poster as a gift for May'n-san.
イベントの前日、参加者全員を代表してMay'nさんへの手紙を準備し、私たちのメッセージと「音楽包子本舗」という名前を選んだ理由を説明しました。デザイナーもMay'nさんへのギフトとしてポスターを作成してくれました。

今回の特別な記念コンサートのために制作したフラスタ、気に入っていただけると嬉しいです。
名義「音楽包子」は、2018年の中国ツアーの名前から取りました。
May'nさんにもあのツアーの素敵な思い出が残っていることを願っています。
これからもずっと素晴らしい歌声と笑顔で、私たちを楽しませてください。
また中国にもぜひ遊びに来てくださいね！

The Big Day / 当日

The next morning, I received early reports from participants who arrived at the venue gates — the flower stand had been properly delivered and set up! Soon after, the flower shop sent me photos. It looked absolutely magnificent.
翌朝、会場のゲートに早く到着した参加者から報告を受けました — フラワースタンドは適切に配送され、設置されていました！その後すぐに、花屋さんから写真が送られてきました。本当に壮観でした。

A Message of Gratitude / 感謝のメッセージ

Once again, thank you to everyone for your support, understanding, and everything you contributed to make this project a success.
