This post documents my journey getting Claude Code working on a POWER9 ppc64le system. The standard npm installation approach fails due to bundled x86_64 binaries, but I've found a workaround using Emacs with the claude-code.el package and eat terminal backend that provides usable functionality for basic AI-assisted development.
